VSBDO: The Problem We Must Solve |
While some initiatives by corporate America have acknowledged the growing issue of unemployed returning Veterans, it is still largely unresolved and most businesses still are not hiring Veterans in adequate numbers. This lack of employment makes it difficult for Veterans to support themselves and their families.
Small business ownership is an option. However, the most significant hurdle to overcome is the Veteran’s lack of start-up capital. Our nation has been built on and by entrepreneurs. Small businesses throughout the United States play a vital and vibrant role in our society each and every day. We can assist in finding a rightful place for these men and women who have not only placed their lives on the line in defense of every American, but in doing so, are well trained to become leaders in the business world.
These individuals have not had an opportunity to avail themselves of traditional business experience, which limits their opportunities in the private sector. A well-planned transition from the skills of the military to the skills and assets needed, such as funding and other business services, are vital to Veterans wishing to build their own business.
